Christmas Time!

Hey guys! I hope that your winter holiday is going absolutely stellar-tastic! This time of year is amazing!! There are so many cool things that you can do to get into the Holiday spirit!!

If you are anything like me, you may get that warm-homey feeling when you start listening to the songs of the season, whether if it is in November or July..... This time of year is a wonderful time to celebrate with friends, family, and those lovely people that show up to all your family events but you are still unaware of their name. (Probably in the case of bigger families such as mine.) There are several things that you can do to get in the mood for Christmas and outfits that you can put together to show your holiday spirit!

NUMBER ONE! LISTENING TO THE SOUNDS OF THE SEASON:
I absolutely love christmas music as you heard before. My favorite songs are the fabulous oldies! From Bing Crosby to Frank Sinatra to Nat King Cole, I love them all and listening to them makes the season feel warm and fuzzy! Although I love me some oldies there are some new (new to me) bands that make some beautiful christmas music. This is my
Holiday Cheer Recommended Lovely Playlist:
1. White Winter Hymnal by Birdy
2. Sleigh Ride by Pentatonix
3. O Holy Night by Bastille (This one is a little difficult to find you can find it on youtube.com)
4. White Christmas by Bing Crosby
5. Christmas Song by Nat King Cole
6. Baby It's Cold Outside by She & Him
7. Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth by David Bowie and Bing Crosby
8. Ave Maria by Christina Perri
9. Silver Bells by Bing Crosby and Carol Richards
10. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree by She & Him
11. Still, Still, Still by Vienna Boys Choir
12. Little Saint Nick by The Beach Boys
13. Santa is Coming to Town by Bing Crosby
14. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer by Gene Autry
15. Cheek to Cheek by Fred Astaire (Not a Christmas Song but I love it and it fits the mood I think)
16. Happy Xmas (The War is Over) by John Lennon
17. Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses
18. Mele Kalikimaka by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters
19. Carol of the Bells by Pentatonix
20. I'll Be Home For Christmas by She & Him

NUMBER TWO!: DRESS FOR THE SEASON WITH LOTS OF CUTE/UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS!:
Now Christmas is always filled with Ugly Sweater Contests, Caroling, and Giving Gifts to the ones you love! We have already taken care of your caroling fix so now comes the FASHION!!!!
This outfit is for a holiday party that turns out to be a little nicer! Simple things are easy to find to match together especially since there are an array of different colors to work with for Christmas! If your Christmas Eve party turns into a Ugly Sweater Extraordinaire make sure to hit up your local thrift store to find your ugly sweater!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST NUMBER THREE!: GIVING GIFTS!:
When thinking about gifts for your loved ones, make sure that you think about the things that they like or that they could use! If you are struggling to find a Christmas Gift make sure to surf their Pinterest boards! These can be über helpful when trying to find a gift! Here are some examples of what to get your friends and family for Christmas!:
1. For your YouTube Fanatic Friends:
For your friends that can't get enough of their favorite YouTubers, most youtubers have their own merch sights were you can buy things that relate to the stores!
   2. For your friends who can get enough of COFFEE!!!:
If your friends can't get enough of coffee or tea, a great present would be a cool mug that represents them or their love for a certain thing! There are hundreds of amazing mugs sold everywhere such as Etsy.com or Amazon, even at your local stores. You can even make your own mugs like Courty and I did!

3. For your friends who are obsessed with their favorite band!:
There are thousands of really cool stores out there like fye, that sell current records, and cds, this would be an awesome gift to get your music loving friend! For my friend Allie I got the brand new One Direction CD!
4. For your friends that are obsessed with music and media!:
Spotify is a great thing that I love to listen to and now you can buy giftcards for it! This gift would make them love you forever!!
5. For the sports lovers on your shopping list:
A jersey, or beanie that helps them rep there favorite team on game day would be the perfect gift for this sports fan! I got my Dad a Bengals Beanie for Christmas and I'm sure that he will love it when he goes to games in the cold!

Well that is all I have for you today! I hope that you liked today's post! Have a Happy Holidays! I hope that all of you have a wonderful time! I love you all, lovelies!(:

Ice Skating!: Ice skating can be super fun and a whole new experience to do with your friends! Make sure that you take it slow when you get out there on the ice, from personal, hurtful experience I can tell you that they only people who have fun when you fall on your butt are the friends that are still upright and laughing (all in good fun of course).

Life of a College Student..

Being a College Student 101:

Before I came to college I thought that it would be all smiley faces and rainbows. I thought that it would be easy and interesting and one of the most exciting experiences of my life and well...
That's  mostly true!
Me wearing my letters for the first time! Zeta Theta Psi ❤
Although college isn't all of the smiley faces and rainbows that I suspected, it is certainly going great. There are a couple things that I suggest to people coming into college newly either in the Spring Semester or High School Seniors. The first is that when you go to college get involved. There are so many different clubs, organizations, and societies that you can belong to, so try them all! One thing that I will suggest beyond anything is that even if you think you have no interest in Greek life, at least check it out. Looking into what the different sororities/fraternities are about is not a binding magical contract! (**of course harry potter references are the best so I had to add one!) My story is that I had absolutely no interest in Greek Life before I went to college. I saw the movies and how they were betrayed on there, took several steps back and said no way!! But when the first event came up (because at my school we hold recruitment events instead of doing a Rush Week), I decided it was a good idea to go. When I went I almost instantly fell in love! All of the girls that were there were so nice and actually took interest in us girls who decided to attend the event. They all explained who they were, what the sorority stands for, and asked us to help them get to know us. It was awesome and as cliche as it sounds when you find the group that you belong to, you have a moment where you just know. You have a feeling that with that group is where you belong!
As wonderful as Greek Life is, there are many other things that you can get involved in on campus such as intramurals, Student Senate (that is what it is called at my school, it may be different at yours), sports, clubs (some can even pertain to your major!), and other activities through music or acting!
If you are worried about meeting friends, don't be! I met most of the friends I have now either at orientation or through the things that I am involved with on campus. Also make sure that you leave your door open! People in college are friendly and will say hi when they pass by! That is another great way to meet new people! (However don't trust everyone you meet, remember play caution because of stranger danger..be safe!)
c l a s s e s :
Make sure that you attend classes! They are very important to keep track of and slacking behind is a bad path to go down! If you guys need any study tips for your exams or classes in general you can look at my exams post for tips from my friends and I!
Make sure to limit your amount of distractions, eat healthy, and give yourself incentives to keep yourself going!
Alrighty lovelies! that is all I have for you today! Have a wonderful night, stay safe, and keep on being amazing!

Taylor (:

HAIR STYLE OF THE DAY!?(:

Good morning, lovelies!! (:

I hope your morning is going amazingly well! Today I am going give you guys a HAIR STYLE OF THE DAY!?(: because I love to try out new hairstyles and keep changing it up to keep things fresh!

The first hair-do is one I did on myself. To do this I kept my bangs out along with a few longer strands to curl. I took my hair from the top of my part and tightly braided it til I got the center back of my head. After this I tied all of my hair into ponytail, and then part my hair just about the pony so that I could flip the pony through the hole. Then I braided my hair is a loose fishtail braid (careful to leave the tail long). After I tied off the braid I took out the pony tail that was holding the top of my hair and pulled on my hair a little to give it a looser look. The pieces I left out I curled and the longer pieces I pinned back just below the braid to give it a sweeping look! And voilà!
Alrighty lovely people! That is all for today! Have a wonderful day! (:

How to Conquer Those Winter Chills!

Hey lovelies! Hope you're having a wonderful day! It is a wonderful day here in my warm cuddly dorm until I have to venture back into the cold. Although it is REALLY cold outside, there are some things that I do to say warm!

1. A big fluffy coat is always the best!! I have a parka and it is literally the best invention ever. It keeps me really warm and it has lots of pockets for all my stuff!
2. SCARVES. scarf, sCaRfY scaRf Scarf. I love scarves! They are really fun and easy to find any time and anywhere. They are really helpful when it comes to staying nice and warm and they come in all sorts of different colors and patterns! I am working on making myself a scarf, but crocheting is harder than it looks!!
3. One of my favorite things, other than scarves of course, is coffee! Coffee is awesome and it can help to keep you warm in a cute, trendy travel mug! If you don't like coffee, hot chocolate and tea will do too! (: This is a great way to make sure that your hands keep warm cause those mittens you are wearing may not be thick enough!
4. BoO0Oo0ts! They are your friends, along with their cohorts, boot socks. These are a great combo for a warm winter outfit and cute too!
5. Last but not least, BEANIES! Beanies are awesome and like scarves they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors! They are a great accessory for the winter so that you can keep your head warm out in the snow and wind! (I kind of want to crochet a beanie, but I haven't figured out how to not make them a table doily yet! ha!)
Hope that you enjoyed today's little tips to stay fashionable and warm this winter! Thanks for reading lovelies!

EXAMS D: D: D: BUMM BUMM BUMMMMMMMM!

CHEMISTRY
ENGLISH
SPANISH
GOVERNMENT
ACCOUNTING
FRENCH
PRE-CALCULUS
OH, MY!!!

Hallelujah! It's almost winter break. Snowball fights, sledding, and Christmas! (if you celebrate! if you don't that's okay!)  We just cant wait!! But before we get out of this prison sentence called fall semester, we must take exams.   For many, these may be a surprise attack!

SO HERE ARE FIVE TIPS FROM EXPERIENCED EXAM TAKERS!
We asked from some help from our friends! (That actually study) (:
1. Do it in a calm and collected environment to help you concentrate!!  Whether this be in your bedroom, on the front porch, just do it somewhere where your study subject will have your 100% undivided attention! Don't forget to wear comfy clothes too.   You don't want to be worried about nonsense like your clothes at this point in time!!  -Courtyy
2. Make notecards for vocabulary words.  When going through take the ones you didn't know right away, or at all,  and put them to the side. Continue this process until you don't have a "Don't Know" pile.  When you don't have a "Don't Know" pile, then take the entire stack to make sure you know everything for sure. -Taylor
3. Work in small spurts of time and take breaks.  Studying for long periods of time causes strain and makes your study period less effective than studying with short breaks inbetween. -Justin
4. Try and work in an environment with little to no distractions! This way you can't get off task as easily. Also try putting your phone in a place that isn't quite so easy to access like if you are in your room, put it down stairs. Or if you live in a dorm like me and your beds are lofted you could put it down on your desk and work in your bed! -Taylor
5. DON'T WAIT TIL LAST MINUTE TO DO YOUR WORK! Waiting til last minute does not benefit anyone and can actually hurt your grade! So take any time you can to study and keep working at it, it will all be worth it in the end. -Momma Lewis
Alrighty! Well those are our five tips to a good ending of the semester! I hope that you take some of these tips and put them to use and maybe add in some of your own techniques! Leave in the comment section below if you have any good tips you would like to share! Thanks for reading!

My Top Five! From Music to Books to Fashion!

Hey lovelies!(:
This week is full of my favorite things this month!(I am not being endorsed to say that I like any of these things. These are just some of the things that I like! (: )
Fabulous Number One!:
The first thing that is on my top list is Meghan Trainor's new album! It is absolutely amazing! If you haven't listened to it, go listen to it! Only a few songs are out right now but you can find them on Spotify or iTunes! I have a Spotify account if you would like to follow, and see my favorite artists! You can follow me through just my name or the username taylew0718!

Amazing Number Two!:
One of my favorite things to do is read! It is a great afternoon if you can just sit down with a great book and cup of coffee!
Right now I have a couple books lined up to read, the one that I am reading right now is: House of Korba: The Ghost Bird Academy Series by C.L. Stone! It is absolutely amazing and I hope you read the series! (:
The books that I have lined up after this one are:
1. The second book in the House of Night Series: Betrayed by P.C. and Kristin Cast.
2. Insurgent (from the Divergent Series) by Veronica Roth
3. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
4. Frostbite (the second book in the Vampire Academy Series) by Richelle Mead.

Lovely Number Three!:
The lovely social media that I am obsessed with at the moment is PINTEREST! I love it so much and it is incredibly addicting. Now that I am getting more and more learn-ed in the ways of pinterest, I am going to be continuely searching for beautiful pins to pin! I can't wait to see what I will find! (: I highly recommend getting an account! If you get on, or already have one, feel free to follow me! I believe the username is tayloranne277 and the screenname is Taylor Lewis!
Forcefully Beautiful Number Four:
One of my favorite things in fashion is the cut out shoulders! Whether it be longsleeve or short sleeve I can't get enough! Another thing that I love the best during the winter is sweaters! They are super comfy and easy to pair with anything! Yes, you can even pair it with one of your favorite dresses or skirts! Just make sure to stay warm!
Amazingly Gorgeous Five:
Coffee, coffee, café, coffee, coffee, and more coffee. Did I mention coffee? My roommate, Ellen, and I are obsessed with coffee which could be proven by the two coffee makers and large amount of coffee that we have stored in our dorm! If you haven't tried coffee before go ahead! Take a sip! If you don't like it that's okay! Coffee is not for everyone; especially black coffee. In my own preference, I usually load my coffee with creamers and sugar to make it nice and sweet! My favorite coffee right now is between the Cappuccino K-Cup, and Snickerdoodle coffee grinds that I got from a little café called Madison's in downtown Urbana, OH. (see a previous blog about some of the great food that is featured at Madison's with me and Courty!).
Alrighty well that is all I have for you today, but keep checking back for more fashion, life, and favorite things!

Brrrrrr, it's cold outside!

So as the weather is getting a little chiller there are ways that your fashion can survive. All you have to do is wear longer sleeves, grab your buttons ups and scarves, and slip on your boots!
Here are a few outfit ideas from my roommate Ellen and I!
Some people assume that you can only wear a shirt in only one type of outfit when in reality there are an array of things that you can do with a few simple things. My two items are my heart printed denim button-up and my oxford heels.

For the first outfit, I paired them with a navy circle skirt from H&M and a statement necklace from Walmart! Don't be afraid to shop at store like Walmart, Claire's or anything like them. Sometimes they can have really cool pieces for a really good price!
Statement necklaces are a super                                                             Oxford heels, as said many
fun way that you can play up an                                                              times are my new obsession!
outfit!                                                                                                       They are a newly vintage way
                                                                                                                  to turn up the style!
 Although I love this outfit,
there is at least one more way,
if not more to use these pieces
                                                        in another outfit!

For this outfit, I paired the shirt and heels with a cheetah print dress from the Bethany Mota Collection at AERO.

One thing about this outfit that I adore is the color combination. The denim shows more summer but brings out the fall with paired with the maroon and tan ( on the heels ). Although this is only a short amount of help, I hope this can give you a little bit of inspiration for your next outfit!

Before I go, there is another outfit that I would like to show you that my roommate put together. This outfit is meant to show you that playing with different textures and patterns can benefit with a cute fall flare of fashion!

In this outfit, Ellen took a floral lace pattern dress and paired it with a cheetah print scarf! To tie the scarf into the outfit she wore calf high boots! Boots and scarves are a great way to get into fall fever, and don't forget boot socks of course!
Alrighty, well it is time for me to sign off! Have a wonderful day lovelies!

Taylor (:

WORKIN' it OUT!

Hey guys!
So yesterday my roommate Ellen and I started a workout schedule and it's working pretty good! Believe or not when you work out in the morning it gets you up, moving, and more ready to tackle the day! Here are a few quick tips about working out from Ellen and I!:

Tip 1:
When you first start working out, make sure you stretch beforehand!!! This is so important because if you don't you could get hurt! :,( oh no!

Tip 2:
Choose a workout that fits you. Don't go all in on weight lifting super max if you just want to get a stronger stomach! Try some crunches, sit ups, and/or planks!

Tip 3:
Because there has so be sommeeeee fashion to everything, here is some clothing advice when you work out! Make sure to wear something comfortable when you work out! Tight uncomfortable clothes is definitely not the way to go. I like to wear a loose t shirt and shorts to work out! Of course no dress shoes, or other shoes that may hurt your feet! I suggest to wear tennis shoes with the appropriate inserts and braces as needed! Because of my footly troubles I have to wear both, and don't skip out on them if you have to also because it can hurt you more than help lovelies!

Tip 4:
When you work out, music is a great way to get in the mood! If you want a great playlist to workout to my playlist is on Spotify! My username is taylew0718 if you want to listen to it!

Tip 5:
Make sure that you drink lots of water when you work out because failing to do so can hurt you! Keep hydrated when you are working hard!

Tip 6:
Eating well is important when you are doing workouts! If you don't eat well it can make you feel sick to your stomach when you are working out! Although you want to try and eat a little healthier, I recommend, par a recommendation by Ellen, that you don't eat the same thing every day because it can quickly become old, and difficult to keep eating healthy!

Tip 7:
On the topic of eating well, don't forget to treat yourself! Everything is good in moderation!

Tip 8:
Random tip of the day: Planners are a great thing! I have 3 planners plus a workout word doc, and a layout planner on my desk. They help to keep you organized, especially with school work! Pick to use one that works for you! ** You definitely do not need to go over board and have as many planners as I do! haha**

Tip 9:
Remember that working out is a cool thing to get in shape and can make you feel great afterwards, but make sure to take care of yourself in the process! Don't overwork yourself, get some rest, do your schoolwork, and don't let it take over your life! Ellen and I only workout for an hour every morning, nothing more. Although we make it count, we try to not overwork ourselves and make sure to not injury ourselves.

Tip 10:
**I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH** Although working out is fun, and getting in shape is too, don't think that you need to change the way you look! All of you are beautiful just the way you are and there is absolutely no need to workout unless you want to! Keep being who you are because there is no one more beautiful, unique, or as wonderful as you. And as many people have said, you are the only you, so keep on being who you want to be not who everyone else wants you to be!

That's all I have today lovelies! Keep up being amazing and have a great day! Thanks for reading!
xoxo,
Taylor (:

Back to School with Style!

Hey guys! I am finally settling in to the swing of college! Everything is a big whirl of different, new, stress, and fantastic times when you get into college and now I can finally get back to blogging!
So this week I am going to show you some of my favorite back to school fashions and the places where you can get some great deals!
NUMBER ONE: Okay so the first day of college was a little warm, so I resulted for a high-neck floral dress, paired with a jean jacket and mid-calf boots! These styles are so easy to find, especially if you live near a TJ Maxx or Marshalls! I love their deals, (promise no advertising). I got the dress there for 14.99!

NUMBER TWO: My next outfit was almost all new buys! I am absolutely in love with these shoes! They are originally American Eagle, but I found them at Payless for 26.99 I believe (don't hold me to the exact dollar). Anyways, they are an oxford style high heel bootie! I actually paired these shoes with my other two outfits in this post! This one is paired with a cut-out shoulder shirt that I found at TJ Maxx for 12.99!I paired them both with my favorite black skirt! Ahhhh, I love all the new pieces I bought I just can't get over it!?

NUMBER THREE:
This is for those chillier days! I love the combination of a simple circle skirt and sweater. This combo matched with a scarf is easy, fast, and reliably warm!!
alrighty well that is all from me this week! Have a good week and make it stylish!!

College Life

So guess what guys!
Courty and I just started college. When you get to this point, if you are still in school, it is so crazy to think that you are old enough to be out in the world on your own!
Here a couple tips that I have for anyone reading out there for their college experience.
tip one:
**side note: these tips are in orange cause that is one of my new school colors (; **
but anyways, tip one: Have fun! Try and get as involved as possible and try to not care about what everyone else thinks. If you wanna dress nice, dress nice. If you wanna join the chem club, join the chem club. Because as a quote that I have on my dorm wall that I have no idea who it's by says, "Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are." Whoever said it was right. you be you and have a hell of a lot of fun doing it!

tip two:
don't let ANYONE force you to do something that you don't want to do. And don't force someone to do something they don't want to do. It isn't cool and it ruins it for everyone. don't give into peer pressure just because some senior said that it is okay. They may be a senior but they sure as hell don't know everything and they might just want to be lame and boss you around.

tip three:
**THIS GOES FOR EVERYWHERE, EVEN IF IT'S NOT AT A PARTY**
Don't ever take a drink from someone and always have your drink in your hand. Never set it down and go back. That is a prime time for some idiot to come along and slip something in your drink and if your like me, well I'm not about that life. So be safe not only at parties but any place!
Alrighy lovelies! That's my advice for now! Have fun, be safe, and rock your style!!
xoxo

Gearing Up for a Fashionable Fall

Hey guys! It's been a while!

well, it is sad to say that summer is coming to an end whether we like it or not. however, the end of summer doesn't always have to be gloomy!! it can open up a whole new opportunity for fashion!

My favorites for this fall semester are fun, warm, and stylish! People often think that because you are running off to class that you don't have time to be fashionable but they are definitely WRONG! You can do it! All it takes it is the right knowledge, wardrobe, and willingness!

Okay so you are running late for class and have to get ready really fast. What are you to do? Well do you have a dress? if yes awesome! tights too? Fantastic! Boots or flats? Grab those too! grab a cute jacket and you should be on your way! if you don't have a dress and tights, then you can opt for skinnies, a scarf, sweater, and your favorite shoes whatever they may be! The key for this fall is to keep your self stylishly warm! If its a hot day I suggest one of the latest style rompers! They are cute, easy to match with, and easy to just slip on in the morning! This is one of my rompers:

I love this romper! it is cute and simple and....
IT HAS POCKETS!?!?! Is that not amazing or what? haha I was pretty amazing by it!

Alrighty well that's all for now! But don't forget to check in for a hair tutorial series coming soon! Thanks!
xoxo
