P r o m !
Alright ladies and gents, it is finally time for Prom! The pinnacle of every girl's high school experience. There are so many dresses and shoes to choose from, in any color and any size. However, make sure that you pick the dress that you want.
Okay. so first is the dress! Here is my top four things to think about when buying your dress:
1. Price!: Imagine yourself walking through the store, suddenly you spot the most amazing dress you have ever seen and you think PERFECT! MUST HAVE!!!
So you sprint across the store, grab it, and dash into a dressing room. Good news you look GREAT!! Finally you decide that you should probably check the price tag, and... HOLY BATMAN, IT COSTS MORE THAN ANY MONEY YOU HAVE EVER POSSESSED.
However, don't worry. Not all dresses are the most expensive things ever. There are plenty of ways that you can get a dress within a reasonable budget.

Hey guys! It's Story Time with Courtyy! So finding a cheap, pretty dress is not completely impossible. Every dance of my high school career, (so four homecomings and two proms), i have not spent over $20 on a dress. Thrift stores are where it's at! If you think this is all "EWWW GROSS," then there is always the option of clearance racks! The next few weeks after prom, stores everywhere just have SALES, SALES, AND MORE SALES on pretty dresses. But the good thing about getting a cheap dress is that you can afford alterations, or just have your lovely friend do them for you!! here is this years find for a whopping FIVE DOLLARS!!
<THE ALTERATIONS:
THE BACK OF THE DRESS WAS A BIT TO BIG FOR COURTY, SO TO FIX IT, I PUT A DART WITH HAND STITCHING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE ZIPPER. AND TOOK OUT THE EXISTING STRING FOR THE CORSET BACK AND REPLACED IT WITH THICK RIBBON FOR A MORE CINDERELLA LOOK. ONE OTHER THING THAT I DID TO THE DRESS WAS SHORTEN THE HEM IN THE FRONT TO GIVE A SWEEPING LOOK AND TO ALLOW FOR COURTY'S HEIGHT AND CONVERSE.
2. THE LOOK.Your prom dress should be everything you want it to be, and you should NEVER settle for just any dress. There are so many colors shapes and sizes to choose from, but make sure to keep it classy.
3. ACCESSORIZING!:
When accessorizing, make sure to match your dress. If silver accents are on your dress, AT ALL COSTS, DO NOT WEAR GOLD ACCESSORIES. On my dress, there are a bunch of differently shaped rhinestones. There are many different geometric shapes and sizes, therefore when picking out my accessories, I made sure to find something similar. TAKE NOTE TO HOW ALL THE ACCESSORIES CHOSEN FOR MY DRESS ARE SILVER WITH ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHAPES.
4. SHOES!

OH. EM. GEE. shoes. ok so, the shoes all depend on what you are comfortable with. Last year, i opted for red high heels to match my Black and white dress. I loved my shoes, dont get me wrong, but i just wanted to take them off at the dance. it was also nice because i did not need to take any length off of my dress either. But this year, i chose to go with a pair of pink converses to match my pink dress. This is all in your own preference. Taylor opted for a more formal look, where as, i went casual. One thing these both had in common though, they matched our dresses! even though no one else will be able to see our shoes, we will know they are there, and ultimately. Feel like a princess(:
