Life in college can be difficult. But it can also be fun and exciting! Here are the things that I have found in my college experience so far.
1. There is homework. ALL THE TIME. There will almost never be a day when you don't have any. But if you time manage correctly it is easy to get through!2. There are clubs, teams, groups, and other organizations that you can join! And you should try them all out! This is how you meet new friends and become more and more acquainted with college.
3. There are social events. Such as going to a sporting event with your friends, or hanging out in the caf. There is ALWAYS something to do on campus, you just have to know how to find it. If there is nothing that piques your interest on campus then go off campus! My friends and I like to try out different coffee shops, little stores, and cafes! One that we just tried out recently was in the nearby city of Findlay. It was called Coffee Amici and it was absolutely amazing. The coffee we all tried was called the Melted Snowflake, and it was one of the best things that I have tried at a coffee joint.

4. Making new friends while keeping the old. It isn't a bad thing to keep in touch with your friends back home. I still plenty of friends from high school that I keep in touch with on a regular basis. However, part of college is branching out and meeting new people. So make sure that you, however hard it may be, step a little outside your comfort zone so that you can meet people that have the same interests, hobbies, or things alike as you. Pictured above are three of my new friends (they also happen to be three of my sorority sisters)!

5. There are unexpected fire drills at 2 AM. One experience I will never forget is the moment when someone burnt rice in their microwave and set off the fire alarm at two in the morning. Let's just say that I was a little more than annoyed when I was abruptly woken up in the middle of the night. All I hope is NEVER AGAIN.
6. Buying things you don't need. When you are a freshmen, like me, you might find yourself buying things other than the necessity. From sweets to a vintage camera that you might just carry around like your very own child for several days because you are so obsessed with it. AKA that's what I just did but hey, it was only 10 bucks!
7. Buying things you think you need like grape juice. (grape juice is my love.) There are things you might think you need like a cool Walking Dead poster that is "only 5 bucks" or maybe even an endless supply of grape juice and poptarts but there are many ways that you can save money while you are in college. One of them is cutting back on the things that you don't need. I know that there might be a super cute shirt for only 15 bucks at the local target but that money could be going towards new experiences with your friends, so remember to spend wisely!
8. Don't wait til the last minute to do things! See you might be telling yourself that you have plenty of time to work on the paper due on Friday. You may rationalize that you have all week to finish it, but before you know it Friday will no longer be days away it will be TOMORROW! Then you will have to rush to finish that paper, printing it out at the last possible second, skidding to a halt and turning it in to your teacher, whilst you have two cups of coffee in your hand (which act as the only thing keeping you awake). Which leads into my next thing that I have learned.
9. Staying up all night is for nocturnal animals and sorry to tell you but you aren't one. There may be nights when you are tempted to stay up all night so that you can continue to cram for that class you didn't pay attention in all semester, but don't. There are studies that show staying up all night will not help you but just effect your memory negatively! I suggest early to bed and an early morning rise and shine will beaucoup de cafe.
10. College is stressful, but don't let that get you down. College is hard. It is a lot of work and it is easy to get stressed. I don't want to scare you (if you aren't in college already), but there is gonna be a lot of work ahead of you, but you can do it!
A tip from me, DON'T BE ALL WORK AND NO PLAY.
It sounds a little like the Shining, I know. But if all you do is school work then you will end up stressing yourself out beyond belief and that will make college a bad experience for you! Sometimes it is okay to take a break from the hard work and hang out with your friends to blow off some steam!
Okie doke! It is time for me to head to class, so bye lovelies!
xoxo,
Taylor(:
